David was born in Liverpool in 1952. He graduated with a certificate in education with an art major from the University of Durham. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1982, he worked with children and art. David studied interior design at Kwantlen College
in Vancouver in 1991, and was subsequently hired to teach illustration there and at B.C.I.T.
David began painting full time in 1994, having already won awards for his works. In 1997 he was elected to the Canadian Society of Painters.
Currently
he is teaching painting and drawing both privately and at Camosun College in Victoria.
