Andree Vezina was born in Montreal in 1952. She completed a degree in Sociology at Laval University as well as pursuing art courses at colleges, museums and workshops. In 1986 she received 'Artist of the Year Award' from Pratt & Whitney. A powerful
figurative painter Andree's refreshing and richly textured images fill her canvases with energy and colour. her people are voluminous, dominating and striking. While they are carefully rendered, her figures are not literal, leaving details to the
viewer's imagination.
